2013 Winter Mystery Quilt-A-Long, Part 2

winterQAL

How is it possible that it’s already been a whole month!! Today, we’re thrilled to announce some winners and introduce part 2 in the Winter Mystery Quilt-A-Long. We’ve noticed that we have 17 members in the Flickr Pool, but only 2 entries so far. We’d love to see creations from all of you for the next round!

Between our two entrants and using the powers of random.org, we’re happy to announce that Brenda Chavez of Brenda Quilts is our first winner! Check out her gorgeous block:

Congratulations, Brenda! We’ll be in touch to get your shipping address so that we can send off a package of Stitch-N-Tear® Lite and a copy of the stunning Asian Fabric Magazine!

Since there were only 2 of you this time around, we’d love to send a little something to Kim Loar as well. Beautiful job on your block, Kim!!

  1. Brenda Chavez says:

The second instructions are so hard. I had to totally scrap my first attempt and start totally over. I missed the part in the instructions where it said to turn the foundation pieces over and work on wrong side of paper. Ugh…oh well, you live and you learn.

Oh no! So sorry about that Brenda! The designer, Alexandra Henry, is a complete pro and so super helpful. If you’d like to connect with her directly at any point, just let me know and I’ll hook you two up! In the meantime, hope all is well and that you have a lovely weekend! — Erin at Pellon

  2. Kim Loar says:

It is not clear in the instructions if we make a second block like month 1 or if we use month 1’s block to add the corners to? Am I missing something? Also, do you need info from me about the prize for month 1?
    Thanks in advance.

Hi Kim! It’s so nice to hear from you!! Yes, please send your address to: erin (dot) sampson (at) pellonusa (dot) com. There is no need to make a second block. Each month, we’ll provide patterns and instructions for how to add on to what you created the month before. This is not a multi-block quilt, but rather a medallion style quilt that will grow in a beautiful full quilted design. I hope that this helps! Please don’t hesitate to contact me directly with questions any time. I’d be happy to connect you with the designer for additional help as well! My Very Best Wishes, Erin at Pellon
