Today, we are joined by Shannon Brinkley — Designer, Quilter, Blogger and new Author of the recently released Scrappy Bits Appliqué. We simply adore her techniques and are thrilled that she leaned so heavily on Pellon® products to create her gorgeous designs.

And with that… Welcome to Day 2 of the Scrappy Bits Appliqué Blog Tour!!
My name is Shannon Brinkley, and I am super excited to share with you about my new book, Scrappy Bits Appliqué. In my book I teach my super fast and easy techniques for raw-edge appliqué. You can use scraps from your stash or start with pieces of larger fabric and cut them down to little “bits” to create a really unique and interesting texture. You can design your own “Scrappy Bits” quilt (I show you how!) or use one of the 8 original quilt projects included in the book.
Like my Around the World Quilt…
or my sweet Tamed Fox Quilt…
or these fast and fun Fallen Leaves Quilted Throw Pillows!
The process is made all the easier by Pellon®’s wonderful products. I used their 725 Heavy-Duty Wonder-Under®, which made fusing the collaged fabrics a breeze! And their 910 Fusible Featherweight interfacing is the perfect foundation for the appliqué piece. In the book, I also share a super fast piecing shortcut using Pellon®’s 820 Quilter’s Grid™ fusible interfacing!

Thanks so much Shannon! I’m personally VERY excited about trying out your technique to make my daughter a quilt — now I just have to decide whether it’ll be the Tamed Fox (pictured above) or something like the Oh Deer or Brontosaurus that you have displayed in the Gallery section of the book! SO much fun:).
Don’t miss the rest of the stops on the book tour — Shannon pulled together an incredibly talented group of designers to share her book!
