Pellon® goes to Minneapolis

That’s right, it’s Quilt Market time!! Two times a year, we get to head to one of the industry’s biggest events… where companies, designers, educators and authors gather to share and talk about all of the wonderful new things that have developed. New fabric lines, handy gadgets, innovative patterns, and new product launches — it can be pretty exciting. Pellon® has a smaller booth than normal in Minneapolis, but it is jam-packed with greatness and we’re just as excited as always! For those of you not attending this weekend, we thought it only fair to give a little sneak peek into what’s happening, the products to watch out for and the projects that give them life.

Market-PellonBooth

Our booth — chock full of goodness!

Market-Batting

Legacy by Pellon® Batting is one of our staples. We are known for our quality and wide variety of fibers. Quilters nationwide prefer Legacy by Pellon®. Learn more on our website and visit your local quilt shop to grab some of your own! Looking for a little inspiration to get you started? Our website has a wide range of quilt projects that are completely free to download, like the Sunny Crib Quilt by Karin Jordan of Leigh Laurel Studios, pictured above.

Market-Interfacing

Pellon® interfacings have been around for over 50 years. They are the industry go-to and have become so well-known that many people use ‘Pellon’ to refer to interfacing in general, just as we may sometimes call a tissue a ‘Kleenex’. Over the years, our product line has expanded and we now offer a wide range of interfacings and stabilizers in the areas of Apparel, Crafts & Home Décor, Quilting, Fusible Webs & Adhesives and Embroidery. If you have a sewing project planned, we’ve got what you need to get that desired professional finish! Just look at the Mabel Vintage Handbag by Alicia Wietholter of Swoon Sewing Patterns. She used Peltex® to create that fantastic structure. The bag sample shown was sewn by Laurette Chandler.

Market-FiberFill

Whether you’re looking for a basic polyester fill, a latex fill or the softest, most luxurious fill you’ve ever worked with… we’ve got you covered;). Seriously – Perfect Loft® is a personal favorite. It was once described as feeling like a pile of sleeping kittens… no joke! The Reading Corner Pouf project above was created by us for Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores using our Basic Fill. It is a quick project that will add a little personality to a child’s room or even a classroom.

Market-Notions

Our packaged interfacings make everything more convenient. In a rush and need some SF101 to finish up a project? No problem! Run to your local Fabric & Craft store, hit the packaged notions aisle, grab what you need and head to the check-out. No more waiting in the cutting line! The Reversible Placements by Karin Jordan of Leigh Laurel Studios (pictured above) are a quick and easy project that can be made with a package of 987F!

Market-SpecialtyFabrics

We’ve been working on expanding our offerings and have added Fabric Magic® and Cheesecloth in the past few years. New for Market is our Muslin! Stay tuned for more on Muslin this afternoon;).

Market-FlexFoam

Last, but not least… it’s the Belle of the Ball: Flex-Foam™. It’s been out for 2 months, is just starting to gain wider distribution and is, by far, one of the most talked about new release stabilizers we’ve had. It seems everyone is looking for yardage and it’s no wonder… this product is, quite possibly, the perfect stabilizer for a wide variety of handbags. Flex-Foam™ is a lightweight sew-in stabilizer consisting of a layer of foam sandwiched between two layers of soft fabric.

The big Market news? We’ll have a fusible version of this fab product coming soon! Seriously, once you start using this, you’ll never want to use anything else!!

Grab some handbag inspiration over at Swoon Sewing Patterns. The bag pictured above is the Evelyn, expertly sewn using by Melissa Magruder. (Oh — and there really is Flex-Foam™ in there!!)

Need a little extra inspiration? These two bags are currently on display in our booth:

If you’re in Minneapolis, we’d love to see you! Swing on by the booth, check everything out in person, ask us anything! We are here for you!

I’m a bag maker and always use your interfacings. The Foam Flex seems to be great. I haven’t used it yet. So cool that you made this new product and the fusible version. They will definitely be a hit among bag makers. I’m looking forward to use it.
