Fashion Fuse Design Challenge :: Trick or Treat Applique Bag

After seeing all of the fabulous projects from our designers this week, we’re thinking that these design challenges should become a regular thing here at Pellon®. With everything from a Faux Fur Collar to a Faux Fur & Leather Taxidermied Bat, we’ve been pretty impressed with the projects we’ve seen. Today is no different! From Kara Sanders of Me and Elna, check out this stylin’ Trick or Treat bag, sure to be a giant hit with your kiddos (and maybe make one for yourself!!)

Trick or Treat Applique Bag
Your little ghost or goblin will love this personalized trick or treat bag! This bag is durable enough to hold a night’s worth of yummy Halloween loot.

Materials Needed
— 1/2 yard Black Pleather
— 1/2 yard Silver Pleather
— 1 yard Halloween Fabric
— 1 yard Pellon® 420 Fashion Fuse™
— 1 yard Pellon® SF101 Shape-Flex®
— Black Thread
— Chalk Marker
— One 10″ x 20″ piece of cardboard
— Masking Tape
— Two sizes of a single letter printed form a computer

Tools Needed
— Sewing Machine & Related Supplies
— Rotary Cutter & Related Supplies

Kara grew up in a household full of creativity, music and laughter. Though she was the resident needle threader for her mother throughout her childhood, Kara didn’t begin to sew until 2008 when she went to a quilt festival and picked up Pat Sloan’s “I Can’t Believe I’m Sewing!” Since then, she has been hooked! Kara loves designing and making handmade gifts for her family and friends and finds much encouragement and support from others in the online sewing community.
